Digitopia organizes three music competitions, one of them in
assotciation with freesound.org

MUSICAL MINIATURES COMPETITION
This competition is held in association with the site freesound.org and
is aimed at stimulating the creation of musical miniatures or gestures
of less than 15 seconds. These miniatures should be created to comply
with the rules for submitting files on freesound.org, particularly with
regard to the Creative Commons license, and must be submitted directly
to this site using the tag ‘Digitopia Miniatures Competition’. The
winning entry will receive a Midi controller plus the corresponding
software, both developed by the Digitópia team (see slideshow above).
Closing date for entries: 28 MAY’10

MAX/MSP AND PD PATCHES COMPETITION
A competition to discover the most original patch for Max/MSP or Pure Data, the two sister programming languages by objects for multimedia, both of which are the subject of Digitópia seminars in 2009/2010. The patches submitted should be released under an open source license. The winning entry will receive a Midi controller plus the corresponding software, both developed by the Digitópiateam 
Closing date for entries: 14 FEB’10

DIGITÓPIA DREAMS COMPETITION
A special competition: we ask entrants to think of an idea for their dream instrument, interface or software. Entries will be assessed using various different parameters: innovation, originality, feasibility and inclusive potential. The winning entry will be built by the creator and by the Digitópia team and documented as an open source project. The winner will receive the first copy of his or her instrument.
